A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Ulster County Soil & Water Conservation District, negotiable United States Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to at least ten (10%) percent of the Base Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The contract consists of the stabilization of an existing terrace failure and streambank erosion by relocating approximately 1000 feet of Elk Bushkill adjacent to Burnham Hollow Road that currently is in contact with the eroding terrace. It will involve the grading of a new channel and floodplain bench, bed and bank stabilization features, vegetated bank stabilization and riparian buffer planting. Proposed channel, streambank and floodplain stabilization techniques include bed grading, reinforced bed mix, boulder hooks, vanes and sills, boulder clusters, boulder toe with soil lifts, log vanes, and live stake installation. Vegetated bank stabilization along the eroding terrace and adjacent areas will include installation of live stakes, branch layering, tree and shrub plantings and seeding. Additional areas of site restoration will include topsoil, seed, trees, and container plants. The storm water pollution plan must be adhered to and at least one staff member on site is required have a current NYS DEC 4-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training certificate/wallet card. Contractors interested in the site showing shall meet at the project site, which is located on the South side of Burnham Hollow Road at 63 Burnham Hollow Road, Town of Shandaken, New York at the above-mentioned time.
