Renovation and addition to a library in Woodland Park, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the addition of a library; and for the renovation of a library.
Bidders must use and complete fully, proposal blanks, within the Project Manual furnished by the Owner AND COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS ATTACHED THERETO, AND INCLUDE a certified Check, Cashiers Check, or Bid Bond, in an amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid, including alternates, but not in excess of $20,000.00, furnished by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Borough of Woodland Park reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with applicable law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.A.C. 17:27 and N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 The Contractor and listed sub-contractors are required to comply with requirements of N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 The Public Works Contractor Registration Act and must submit certification(s) in accordance with the law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 for proof of Business Registration Certification. This project is being paid for, in part, with CDBG funds from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. Prevailing wages established under the Davis-Bacon Act will apply to this contract. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE and WBE participation, participation by Section 3 resident and businesses, and related matters. All bidders must submit documentary evident that outreach was made to Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) to perform as subcontractors on the job. As per the attached plans and specifications, this project includes the renovation and addition of the existing +/- 7,000 SF public library at 7 Brophy Lane, Woodland Park, New Jersey. The renovated facility will be a 1 level set into a sloped site and be comprised of the renovation of a +/- 5,500 SF portion of the existing facility and the construction of an +/- 8,000 SF new addition. The facility will include library stacks, reading rooms, offices, a programmable event space, educational media rooms, and a children's wing throughout the approximately +/- 13,500 total SF building. The addition will be constructed of poured concrete foundations and steel frame super structure tied into the existing library concrete foundations and steel frame structure. The perimeter walls will be insulated structural sheathing panels with a cold formed metal stud back up. Aluminum windows will occur at the offices and event area with storefront walls at the entry and children's wing. Interior finishes include predominately painted GWB stud wall partitions with interior glass windows and operable glass walls, wood doors with hollow metal frames with access control, LVT flooring, sealed concrete flooring, carpet, and ceramic tile. Acoustical, GWB, suspended wood veneer, and exposed painted structure as finish will occur at ceilings. A limited number of historic fixtures will also be provided by ownership for installation at key locations. Site work includes site clearing and excavation, new storm and sanitary lines, new concrete pad for exterior emergency generator installation, and relocation of existing electrical and gas utility services. For areas within the building pad foot print. All new or relocated site utilities including natural gas, domestic water, fire protection, electrical, sanitary, storm, fiber and low voltage fire alarm interface are to be brought to the library facility. Refer to project bid drawings and specifications for additional utility information and requirements.
