This section of the ITB describes the District's specifications and requirements to provide Janitorial Services at Birmingham City Schools as outlined and indicated herein. Specifications and requirements include: 1. Bidder shall provide all personnel with at least 5 capable and trained people per school including an onsite supervisor. 2. Bidder shall supply all tools, materials, equipment(including heavy equipment), and other items to service the location 3. Bidder services will be performed afterhours and weekends 4. Bidder will coordinate with Security for building access 5. Bidder shall complete janitorial services within 30 days of start date 6. Bidder shall provide a work schedule including school location and number of days/hours to clean 7. Bidder shall clean walls and doors including light switches, handrails, door knobs, plug covers, partitions, elevators, baseboards and glass 8. Bidder shall vacuum and chemically clean carpet and mop and wax floors 9. Bidder shall dust and disinfect surface areas including desk, countertops, tables, file cabinets, etc. 10. Bidder shall clean and disinfect waste containers classrooms, break areas, conference rooms, rest rooms, etc. Plastic liners should be installed 11. Bidder shall dust window sills, blinds, ledges, and shelves under six feet. Corners, crevices, molding, and ledges shall be free of dust, cobwebs, and oily smudges 12. Bidder shall thoroughly clean restrooms including cleaning and drying all wash basins, including bottom, faucets, spigots, commodes including the rim and the bottom, and glass mirrors 13. Bidder shall use appropriate cleaners for carpet, flooring type, countertops, glass, walls, etc. to clean and disinfect 14. Bidder shall clean sinks, stoves, microwaves, refrigerators 15. Bidder shall wipe down or vacuum chairs depending on the surface 16. Bidder shall dust draperies and curtains 17. Bidder shall clean HVAC vents thoroughly Telephone inquiries are not acceptable. All questions must be submitted in writing via email to purchasing@bhm.k12.al.us on or before Thursday, June 22, 2023, 2:00 PM M . CDT/CST. Questions will not be accepted after the deadline. Please read the document in its entirety. Questions which are already answered within the RFP, may not be addressed. Response to questions will be posted on electronically. The initial contract term shall be for one (1) year, with two (2) additional one (1) year renewal options, not to exceed three (3) years under the same terms and conditions indicated herein. Bid Security - Bidder must submit with response a bid security in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check drawn on an Alabama Bank. Bid Checks will be returned via certified mail. Personal checks, company checks and money orders are not acceptable. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive all informalities in bidding and to award the contract to the lowest responsible Bidder in accordance with applicable law.
