2023 Street Resurfacing of Various Streets and ADA Curb Cuts in Upper Darby Township - Scope of work includes milling and resurfacing of roadways and ADA curb ramps. 1.02 Project Description A. Upper Darby Township is performing roadway rehabilitation work along several of its roads and within the Township. B. The roadway rehabilitation work consists of, but is not limited to, the following work: Mill and overlay of street, ADA compliant curb ramp construction, and striping of repaved streets with existing striping. The scope of work is more fully described in the Project Specifications herein and on the Project Plans. Section 00000 - Scope of Work Page 2 of 4 C. The project is being bid as two (2) separate bids known as Base Bid 1 and Base Bid 2. Base Bid 1 includes all necessary construction work for the Resurfacing of Various Streets within Upper Darby Township as detailed herein and within the specifications. Base Bid 2 includes all necessary work for the construction of ADA Compliant Curb Ramps within Upper Darby Township as detailed herein and within the specifications. Contractors can elect to bid Base Bid 1, Base Bid 2 or Both. Contractors will be required, within each bid to provide all scope detailed in General Conditions and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic separately. A. Construction layout of all proposed elements of construction to the specified lines and grades. All limits of work shall be marked out and approved by the Township Engineer prior to excavation. For this project, all limits of work will be established outside the limits of any state right-of-way. Grades shall be verified in the field during construction layout. B. Removal of existing features as incidental to the contract work items, including but not limited to the following: metal plates, pipes, concrete slabs, stone, bricks, and all foreign materials encountered during excavation for contract items. C. Curb ramp construction shall be completed and deemed acceptable prior to commencing milling and paving operations at that project location. Longford Road from Larkspur Lane to Dead End (Half) Bidders are required to submit a surety in the form of a bond or equivalent meeting 10% of the overall bid price in compliance with the contract documents. Bid bonds will be returned to the non-awarded bidders upon the execution of the contract. The successful Bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. All interested parties must submit questions via the web-based system, by the posted deadline for questions. Bidders are not permitted to contact the Township Engineer or staff directly. The Contract Documents contain all pertinent regulations.
