Deadline to submit questions Thursday, June 29, 2023 Written questions shall be emailed to kimberly.keyes@hollyspringsnc.gov and Brent Quick, Purchasing Manager, at brent.quick@hollyspringsnc.gov Holly Springs purchased approximately 56 acres located at 5420 Cass Holt Road in Holly Springs for the purpose of developing a community park. The land is located across the street from the Holly Springs High School campus. A master plan for the park was completed in the spring of 2022. The park project is anticipated to be funded by a $100M bond to be voted on in November of 2023. This will be the first community park in Holly Springs west of the NC-55 roadway. After a thorough community engagement process, the park master plan recommends a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation amenities. A major component of the park will include an approximate +/-93,000 sq. ft. indoor recreation center that will feature a four-court gymnasium with spectator seating, fitness center, group exercise rooms, walking/adventure track, indoor play structure, meeting rooms with warming/catering kitchen, esports lounge, cafe, offices, and associated support spaces. The site will require the installation of new gravity sewer and domestic water mains that will connected to existing off-site mains, ensuring efficient and reliable utility services. Several stormwater control measures will be implemented to effectively manage rainfall and runoff. To enhance accessibility, a convenient two-way vehicular traffic access loop will be established, navigating through the park campus. The site will feature a dedicated pedestrian trail, a promenade, and a greenway encircling the entire area, adding to its overall appeal and providing opportunities for leisurely strolls and recreational activities. Roadway and pedestrian improvements along the frontage of the property will also be required as determined by the local ordinance. The park plans include outdoor active recreation amenities such as basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts and two multipurpose turf fields. The park will feature an interactive playground and splashpad, an all-wheels skatepark, and various passive elements such as shelters
