Sealed Proposals for the Village of Arlington Heights BACKYARD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - 2023. The above designated work and improvements referred to as BACKYARD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - 2023 shall include the installation of new public storm sewers and appurtenances at various locations within the Village of Arlington Heights. This work will include, but is not limited to, pavement removal; curb and gutter removal and replacement; sidewalk removal and replacement; storm sewer installation of sizes between 6" and 24" of either PVC or RCP pipe; concrete sewer structure installation; bituminous pavement patching; driveway repair. The locations for this work are shown in the Contract Documents. This work shall be to the requirements as indicated in the Contract Specifications. Bidders shall comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate Act (820 ILCS 130/), the IDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted April 1, 2016, and the IDOT Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions, adopted January 1, 2023. Bidders will also be required to comply with the applicable equal employment opportunity provisions. Bid bond, cashier's check, certified check drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Illinois, payable without condition to the Village of Arlington Heights in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each Proposal. It is suggested, but not required, that any questions regarding the bid documents be submitted to Arianna Roldan, E.I.T., prior to the Pre-Bid Conference in order to allow the Village sufficient time to adequately research and prepare a response for the conference. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Proposal for failure to comply with all requirements of this notice or of any of the Contract Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to award a Contract which, in its judgement, is in the best interest of the Owner. The Affidavit of Availability must be submitted with the proposal, showing all uncompleted contracts awarded to them and all low bids pending award for Federal, State, County, Municipal and private work.
