It is the responsibility of the contractor to request access to the bid opening prior to the Bid Opening date before the 2:00PM deadline via email to the Procurement Agent listed for this solicitation. Liquidated Damages of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed if the Contractor fails to achieve Substantial Completion or causes delay to the Substantial Completion of any portion of the work within the Contract Time The University reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid; and to waive any informality or technical defects; if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the University. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The scope of work of thisprojectincludesrestoringthe Cupola of theWilburCrossBuilding.The work includes removal of the existing paint, replacement of deteriorated wood elements, repainting of the entire cupola, removing the existing roof and replacing with a new flatseam copper roof and gold leaf. 2. Removal of all debris caused by this Contract. 3. Protection of the public, building, grounds from damage during this contract isthe responsibility of the Contractor for this project at all times. 4. Repair or replace landscaping including trees, shrubs or other planting disturbed during the Work of the contract with new to match existing, unless otherwise noted. Regrade and reseed any grass area damaged as a result of the Work.Repair anywalkways or paved areas damagedas a result of the Work. Q&A (RFI) Due Date and Time 9/13/2023 2:00 PM This project entails the repair of the cupola at the Wilbur Cross Building. The work will include paint removal, patching or replacing damaged wood and metal surfaces, replacing the metal roof on the cupola and installing new gold leaf covering, repainting the entire structure. Repairs that will be required as part of this phase include the following: o Fully remove all paint from all surfaces including the wood, galvanized metal, casting, etc. o Remove existing balustrades. o Remove and replace deteriorated wood elements as depicted on drawings. o Remove and replace existing galvanized metal roof with new copper roof and gold leaf. o Repaint entire cupola with a primer coat and 2 finished coats as specified. o Repair and repaint galvanized metal roofs and aprons as indicated.
