Description of Work: The University of California, Berkeley is constructing Bancroft Student Housing Building ("Project") on the parcel bounded by Bancroft Way, Fulton Street, Durant Avenue and the UC Berkeley Aquatic Center. The Project will be approximately 350,000 gross square feet and include approximately 1,590 student beds in a residence hall configuration, comprised of primarily triples, and including doubles and singles, plus six staff apartments. A cluster style shared bathroom configuration will support groups of units. The Project includes a dining facility, designed to seat approximately 500 people and program space to support student residential living, inclusive of laundry facilities, meeting spaces, offices and additional space for staff and operations. The Project is required to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDTM) Gold Certification, a requirement of the UC Policy on Sustainable Practices. Contractor documentation required for LEED certification is part of the CM/Contractor's scope of the project. Refer to the 25% Design Development Documents. REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION OR INTERPRETATIONS OF THE BIDDING DOCUMENTS must be in writing and submitted in online by clicking the Messages Tab, no later than 4:00 PM, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24th, 2024. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: General Building License Classification, License Code "B. Bid Security shall accompany each Bid. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). ORIGINAL BID, BID BOND, AND ANY OTHER REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS must be RECEIVED within 48 hours of Bid Deadline at: Attention: Contract Administration, CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Rm 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. Maximum Anticipated Contract Value: $350,000,000, including preconstruction services.
