Renovation of a detention facility in Riverhead, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
This project will provide planning and construction funds for improvements to the Department of Health Services Pharmacy and Jail Medical Unit located within the Riverhead Correctional Facility. The pharmacy is in need of improvements due to wear and tear and also to maintain safe and secure operation. The Jail Medical Unit needs modifications to existing existing cabinetry, file room modernization, and upgrades to medical exam rooms. As of August 21, 2024, this project is included in the Suffolk County's FY 2025-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
