The existing site consists of a brownfield area with an existing swale, just outside the fenced boundary of the Estevan WWTF (SEC: 22 - TWP: 02 - RGE: 08 - W 2nd M). Construction access from the existing wastewater treatment access road is available. The Estevan Pilot WWTF project includes, but is not limited to, the following construction elements: o Site Preparation: Rough grading and preliminary site prep to allow for construction. o Site Earthworks: Removal of unsuitable foundation materials and importing, placing, and shaping suitable replacement materials. o Tie-in to existing infrastructure: Tie-in to existing modified sequencing batch reactor (MSBR) inlet and outlet lines for pilot system feed. o Dosing and Instrumentation Wells: Dosing well complete with submersible pump and instrumentation well with controls. o Pilot Biofilter Wetland System: A pilot biofilter-based treatment system with two treatment trains consisting of one vertical flow biofilter (VFB) and one horizontal subsurface flow wetland (HSSF), and one phosphorus removal cell (PRC) each. o Collection Wells (4): Four collection manholes for wastewater collection from biofiltration treatment units. o Effluent Well: Discharge to the existing MSBR inlet line for treatment. o Storm water Management: Grading appropriate site drainage. o Erosion and Sediment Control Planning: Preparation and execution of a site-specific erosion and sediment control plan for the duration of construction activities.
