Fiber Optic Cable Maintenance Services: The Town of West Hartford has approximately 77 miles of fiber optic cables located aerial in the municipal gain on utility poles across town and underground in conduit. It is the intent of this bid to hire an experienced and qualified contractor that will be available for hire by the Town of West Hartford for maintenance and emergency repairs as needed for its fiber-optic cable plant and defunct coax cable. Contractor Qualifications: - Qualified contractors shall be a Connecticut based company (proximity to West Hartford for emergency calls). - Qualified contractors shall be licensed in the State of Connecticut for either/or/all, Electrical, Communications, Cable (T1, L1, E1, C1). - Permits will be required for any inside work. Contractor shall apply for permits but Town of West Hartford fees are waived. All other agency fees (State, etc.) will be the responsibility of the contractor. All contractors and their work must be in full compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, building codes, OSHA rules, regulations and standards, zoning regulations, licensing and legal qualifications to perform all phases of required work. We are requesting electronic submission along with hard copy submission. All participants must submit both. Bidders shall enter hourly rates as defined in electronic submission. Materials percentage shall be indicated with 1.0. Example for a 15% markup enter 1.15 for a 15% discount enter 0.15. Hard copy bid forms must match electronic submission, the Town maintains the right to reject any bid that does not meet this criteria. All Bidders must file with their bid a bid bond, certified or treasurer's check in the amount of 10% of the total of the base bid made payable to the Town of West Hartford. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of bids without the approval and written consent of the Town of West Hartford. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding and to make awards in any manner that is the most beneficial to the Town.
