Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Crown Point, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

All work for this Project will be under a single prime contract with the Owner based on bids received as defined in the Project Manual and Contract Documents. All references to "Bids", "Bidding" or "Bidders" within the construction documents shall equate to "Quotes", "Quoting" and "Quoters" for compliance with the Lake County purchasing ordinance. Scope of Work includes Improvement to the existing pole barn structure know ad Building #12 including replacement of existing overhead and man doors, structural modifications for one (1) new overhead and one (1) man doors, installation of openers, pouring of concrete slab over rigid insulation and vapor barrier, new concrete stoops with painted bollards, framing of new insulated separation partition wall, framing and finishing of new restroom complete with underground sanitary and domestic water piping and fixtures, new sewer and water utility work, installation of sprayfoam insulation throughout interior walls and roof, upgraded electrical service for new lighting and power, gas service to the building to support interior unit heaters, installation of ceiling or wall mounted fans, compressed air lines incorporating Owners compressor and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. All bids must be submitted on prescribed State Board of Accounts Form No. 96 together with DLZ Bid Form in Section 00 41 13, and all the proper forms included in the specifications, the entire set of which shall be filed intact as a bid. Bidders must submit their Employer Identification Number on the Bid Form. In the absence of an E.I.N. they must submit their Social Security Number. Contract Documents are available from the Architect in electronic format. The successful bidder will be required to comply with applicable terms of the Countys Project Labor Agreement (PLA) and the Responsible Bidding Practices and Submission Requirements For Submitting Bids To Perform Construction Works Projects; refer to Section 00 22 13 of the Project Manual. As identified in County Form 1, Section VIII (D). IF necessary, bid security shall be made payable to the Board of Commissioners of Lake County, Indiana, as follows: Any person, firm, or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST submit a BOND in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of their total bid amount for offers over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). Any person, firm, or corporation who submits a Bid and DOES NOT have a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST file with their bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, or MONEY ORDER issued by a financial institution insured by an agency of the United States, made payable to "The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lake, State of Indiana." All certified checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned upon selection of a successful bidder. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of their contract amount within ten (10) days after award of the contract. Bonds shall be maintained in accordance with IC 36-1-12-13.1 and 36-1-12-14. Bonds shall be in full force and effect for a period of at least 12 months after the date of final completion of the Contract. Should the contractors bonding company give notice of cancellation; the contractor will be responsible for securing new bonds prior to termination. Bids may be held by the Board of Commissioners for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening; no Contractor may withdraw their proposal within that time. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities or irregularities therein, to delete any bid item or items and to award a contract on the proposal that in their judgment is most advantageous to Lake County.
