Renovation of a medical facility in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
As part of the Medical Imaging Department at NRGH, the busy interventional radiology (IR) uses room 1165 as a backup if there are any service issues with the main Fluoroscopy room. There have been concerns encountered with this aging equipment during procedures. The project scope is to replace existing Toshiba Fluoroscopy X-Ray at NRGH in room 1165. This equipment is beyond life expectancy but remains operating. Renovations to accommodate the installation of the new equipment are anticipated to include: Removal of millwork and sink. Modified design of control booth including new millwork/furniture. Replacement of flooring, wall finishes, ceiling, and lighting. Adding a patient lift and hand hygiene sink. Modifications to structural ceiling systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, life safety systems and services to current CSA standards. It is anticipated the supporting spaces will include: Adjacent washroom refresh and accessibility upgrades, Adjacent office refresh including new furniture.
