Texas Tech University System and Angelo State University to construct a 14,400 square foot flight training facility with classrooms and flight simulators. The proposed Aeronautical Facility will consist of a new approximate 14,400 square foot Pre Engineered metal building and will serve the educational and training portion of the ASU Commercial Aviation Degree Program. It will be located off Hangar Road, north of the SJT Terminal building at the San Angelo Airport. The facility will consist of three (3) large educational classrooms that can accommodate thirty-two (32) students each, three (3) simulator rooms allowing students the opportunity to simulate real time flying scenarios and situations, along with multiple cubicles to allow each student a private space to study and prepare for their individual programs. In Addition to the educational areas, this new facility will house a recruiting lounge, pilot instructor offices, including a suite for program director and chief pilot, and all supporting areas such as mens' and womens' restrooms, information technology components, and guest/visitor building access. City and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) permitting will have to be provided as well as Site utility connections, landscaping, irrigation, and surface parking.
