Site work for a water / sewer project in Aitkin, Minnesota. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of November 16, 2023, a contract was approved with design team. Major Tasks and Milestones Aitkin Public Utilities Dave Cluff, Manager 120 1st Street NW Aitkin, MN 56431 The Aitkin Public Utilities will review all information provided and recommend to the City Council for approval, a firm based on expertise in the professional areas requested above, related experience and project delivery. Selection of a consultant may be based on the qualifications submitted and/or team interview at the discretion of the City. Responses should be addressed to: The City of Aitkin will be constructing a new water tower to replace the existing water tower that was originally constructed in 1958. The project will require review of the existing water supply and distribution system to ensure the proposed water tower operates within the desired pressure operating range. Funding for the project includes a federal legislative appropriation as well as the Minnesota Drinking Water Revolving Fund. Only consultants experienced in the areas described above will be considered. Proposals with cost information will not be accepted. Qualification statements should be a maximum of 10 pages and include the following: o A brief description of the firm including types of services offered, business locations and number of personnel with applicable experience and ability to complete this project. o An overview of the firm's expertise in the required professional areas of practice (planning, engineering, surveying, structural engineering, electrical engineering, permitting, environmental review, and funding coordination). Key personnel resumes should be included but do not count toward the 10 page maximum. o Description of factors that provide best-value, if any. Based on qualifications received specifically related to the planned project, a consultant, or proposed team, will be selected. Services to be provided include, but may not be limited to, the following. o Public involvement and planning services. o Preparation of the Community Grants Work Plan. o Preparation and documentation of necessary Environmental Review, including coordinating consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and implementing regulations at 36 CFR 800. o Design, permitting, bidding, and construction management services for construction of the new water tower and any associated water supply and distribution system needs. o Water system distribution evaluation and assessment. o Grant management assistance including but not limited to coordination with funding agencies, wage compliance, BABAA, and preparing reimbursement requests. Complete and submit the Community GrantsWork Plan Prepare Environmental Review Documentation Begin preparation ofplans, specifications, and construction documents. Complete design, deliver plans, specifications, and construction documents. Complete project permitting. Advertise for bids, receive bids, award construction contract. Begin Construction. Complete Construction. Approximate Completion Date December 2023 December 2023 February 2024 July 2024 July 2024 August 2024 September 2024 October 2025.
