Question Deadline 07/14/2023 at 2:00 PM ET The scope of work involves the removal of identified poor condition and repair of fair condition asbestos-containing plaster, reinstatement of the removed plaster to match original finishes, repair previously patched plaster to match original finishes and repair damaged paint. To achieve the objective of removing the identified delaminating poor condition asbestos-containing plaster and repair of fair condition and previously patched plaster to original condition, abatement with respect to O.Reg 278/05 and the PSPC Asbestos Management Standard can be achieved by removing ACMS under Intermediate-Risk (Type 2) asbestos-precautions. This is provided the materials can be removed using only hand tools or power tools with a properly utilized dust collection system equipped with a DOP tested HEPA filter system. Repairing damaged paint adhered to asbestos containing materials throughout the central cores of the building can be performed under Low-Risk (Type 1) asbestos-precautions provided materials are wetted. After repairs, to prevent further damage, in areas of constant abrasion, a wear-guard is to be installed on the applicable walls.
