Request for Supplier Pre-Qualifications For General Contractors for the Construction of the New Wastewater Innovation Centre. The purpose of this RFPQ is to obtain submissions from general contractors to determine those that are qualified to undertake the general contractors scope of work for the new build of the Wastewater Innovation Centre project as further explained in Appendix B of the RFPQ. A pre-qualified supplier list will be developed based on the outcome of this RFPQ process. Those on the list will be invited to an invitational second-stage competitive process to bid on the scope of work. Only those that are on the pre-qualified supplier list will be eligible to bid in the invitational second-stage competitive process. This RFPQ is an invitation by the City to prospective general contractors to pre-qualify to provide general contracting services for the provision of the construction of the new Wastewater Innovation Centre located at 151 Bradford Street, Barrie, Ontario, as further described in this appendix. The successful respondent (the Contractor) at the outcome of the invitational second-stage competitive process will be responsible for undertaking the construction of this project. The Wastewater Innovation Centre will consist of a new building located on Bradford Street comprising of administrative space, a training and multi-purpose area, maintenance and repair workshops, garage bays, staff facilities, and vehicle storage that support the functions serving the WWTF. It is expected that the City will award the construction contract in February 2026. The timelines are tentative only and may be changed by the City at anytime.
