BCA Project Generosity The Barrie Construction Association Board of Directors was approached by Camphill Communities Ontario with a request for support. Their organization has been gifted a bungalow located in central Barrie that requires some renovation in order to make it amenable for two supported individuals. This home is conveniently located in the Sophia Creek neighborhood of Barrie, where there are 2 other homes currently and an art studio nearby. What is Camphill Communities Ontario. Camphill Communities Ontario is an accredited not-for-profit organization that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Simcoe County. We support people in directing their own lives and in promoting partnerships, opportunities, well-being, freedom, and contributions in the community. Camphills mission is to enrich society by creating meaningful opportunities to live, learn, and work together, and to build a community where people of diverse abilities enjoy quality of life and personal growth in a rich social and cultural environment. 60% of Canadian adults who have a developmental disability live with family members (and are therefore eligible for only limited provincial government support). The home requires: - New Windows - New flooring - New plumbing - New Appliances- Fridge, Stove, Microwave, Washer/Dryer - HVAC Upgrades - New kitchen cabinets - Drywall repairs - Painting - Electrical upgrades BCA members not only build and rebuild our community physically, they also work towards improving the overall health of our community by supporting charities and other organizations. We are asking each and every one of our members who would like to be involved in the renovation of this home to consider providing your best pricing and/or gifts in kind. There will be extensive media coverage of this project and your company name and logo will be placed on signage at the project and on the BCA's website.
