As of August ,29 2023, project was awarded to Cinderella Partners INC, awarded amount is $$425,807.94 The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The project includes clearing, grading, and paving of a 10' wide multi-use trail (greenway), one (1) pedestrian bridge, a greenway slab through US Hwy 321S chamber culvert, retaining walls and bank stabilization in support of the trail, and erosion and sediment control (ESC) measures and limited landscaping. The Project Site straddles US Highway 321 South on two (2) parcels; the "upstream" or western parcel is home to the Tweetsie Railroad amusement park and the "downstream" or eastern parcel is owned by Watauga County. The Middle Fork New River (MFNR) runs from the Tweetsie Railroad Pabilityarcel, underneath US Hwy 321 South in a 3-chamber concrete culvert and discharges adjacent to river right of the parcel owned by the County. This section of greenway will connect a previously constructed paved greenway at the Tweetsie Railroad Parcel and a Natural Surface Trail segment on the County Parcel. Bidders are hereby advised that the County of Watauga has adopted a resolution for a verifiable 3% goal participation by minority businesses in the total value of work for which a contract is awarded. Bid Bond. Bids on projects in the formal bidding range must be accompanied by a bid deposit inthe amount of at least 5% of the bid and must be in the form of cash, cashiers check, certified check, or bond. The bid deposit/bond must accompany the bid at the time the bid is filed with the local government.
