Site work for a water / sewer project in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project is planned to be advertised for bid in September 2023 with bids due in early November 2023 and award in early December 2023. The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) is providing this Request for Notification to inform the vendor community about the intent to release an Invitation for Bids for the Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) North Wharf Improvements project in Norfolk, Virginia. The port is planning improvements to the existing North NIT Wharf, which is approximately 2,400 feet long. These improvements will include adding 120-foot gage ship-to-shore crane rail to the south 1500 feet of wharf while maintaining the existing 100-foot gage ship-to shore crane rail along the entire wharf. This will require selective demolition of the existing slabs and beams and installation of approximately 400 new 24x24 concrete piles and new deck slabs and beams. In addition, mooring dolphins will be added, crane stowage locations will be upgraded, and new fenders and bollards will be provided along the entire wharf. Finally, to facilitate dredging to 55 feet a new steel sheet pile toe wall will be installed just outboard of the wharf.
