Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

As of October 14, 2024, a general contractor has been awarded and construction started in May 2024. General contractor firm information has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Steve Munger at munger.6@osu.edu with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). Bricker Hall (OSU Building # 0001) was originally designed in 1922 and constructed as the "Administration Building" and contained the office of the Bursar, the Registrar, and the office of the President. The office of the President has recently relocated from Bricker Hall leaving the third floor and a large portion of the second floor vacant. This project will relocate the department of Economics from their current location in Arps Hall into the second and third floors of Bricker Hall. The renovation will include teaching, office, conference, and computational laboratory spaces, as well as renovations to supporting and common spaces as required to facilitate this relocation. Structural elements including floors, bearing walls and vertical circulation are generally intended to be left in place to minimally impact the existing conditions. It is anticipated that hazardous materials (asbestos and lead) may be present throughout the project boundaries which will require abatement as needed to facilitate the new configuration. Depending on the verification of the electrical system capacity, the building service may require upgrades. HVAC is served through multiple systems which will each require modification to accommodate the reconfigured space. Accessibility is an important aspect of this renovation, as the only accessible restrooms are present on the 1st floor of the building with no restrooms present on the 2nd floor. This project is required to be designed and delivered within a collaborative BIM-enabled environment following The Ohio State University BIM Project Delivery Standards. The Primary firm submitting for the project will be required to have the BIM expertise capable of meeting the aforementioned standards.
