The Cape Breton Regional Municipality Water Utility is presently considering strategic changes to the operation of the Sydney Water Distribution System. Through the development of an innovative and creative design the CBRM Water Utility intends to develop a master plan which will optimize the way the existing system is operated while addressing the major capital upgrades required, ensuring the system operates in the most energy efficient, cost effective, and reliable manner. This master plan will serve as a roadmap for allocation of capital funding for the next 5 years within the Sydney Water System. The CBRM Water Utility is seeking proposals from qualified Engineering Consulting firms (Engineer) for the development of the afore mentioned Master Plan (MP) to determine the most energy and cost effective way to operate the water distribution system in supplying water to the areas of Sydney, Whitney Pier, Coxheath, Westmount, Sydney River, Membertou, and Grand Lake Road area all while maintaining the current level of service and addressing the Utility's immediate storage and transmission needs. The successful Engineering Consultant will provide expert assistance to the CBRM Water Utility regarding all phases of work from analysis of current operations, performing hydraulic analyses, providing viable options, recommendations, preparing capital cost estimates, proposing schedules for capital upgrades, and providing project management throughout the project.
