Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Bay Shore, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
This project provides funding for improvements at Gardiner County Park and for the renovation and restoration of Sagtikos Manor. Gardiner County Park is a 231-acre nature-oriented public park on the Great South Bay. Sagtikos Manor is a ten-acre estate that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1976 and dedicated to the Suffolk County Historic Trust in 2007. The estate includes three main structures: the manor house, the carriage house, and the garden house. The current focus of the project is the conversion of the carriage house to a visitor's center to include public restrooms, an archive room, offices, and a gift shop. The project is included in the Suffolk County's 2024-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 2, 2024, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
