This project involves the removal of a concrete weir on Mill Creek, located within the on a private property at 334 Broadway in Orangeville, Ontario. The project aims to restore the channel to adjust to the weirs removal, limit sudden releases of fine sediment from the existing sedimentation area, and provide some modest bank erosion protection to nearby structures on the north bank of the creek. In concert with this work, two services, private electrical and water line crossings under the creek, will need to be lowered to eliminate the future erosion and scour risk to the utility crossings following removal of the weir.
