Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Smithtown, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
This project provides for the restoration of the Grist Mill, Miller’s House, and other historic structures within the Blydenburgh Historic District. The stabilization of the Grist Mill has been completed. The current focus of the project is the stabilization and restoration of the Miller's House. Subsequent phases will address planning and construction of the millworks, mill water wheel, and spillway. The spillway is located directly across from the mill and controls the water flow from Miller's Pond to the stream that would normally power the water wheel. As of August 20, 2024, this project is included in the Suffolk County's FY 2025-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
