The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) requires replacing the existing fuel containment area located in the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) #7 Organizational Parking Area. The existing fuel containment area is an above ground metal structure that is old, cracked and leaking. The replacement fuel containment area will consist of a reinforced concrete slab on grade, sloped back to a reinforced concrete containment channel covered with traffic rated metal grate. The area will be contained on three sides by a curb and 42"min. tall tube railing that meets OSHA standards. The containment area will be sized per requirement to retain 5,000 gallons volume stored in the fuel storage vehicle or trailer. The concrete area will be approximately 30' x 50', with a five-foot-wide channel across the low end. It is anticipated that saw cutting/removal of existing pavement and re-grading/re-compacting the soil underneath the existing pavement will be required at the designated location. Total disturbed area is not to exceed 1,500 Square Feet. The new fuel containment area will include sump pump system and drainage swale to connect storm flows offsite. This project includes structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical work. Other parts of the project saw cutting, trenching, excavating, and concrete replacement. If the construction value is $50,000 or greater a Bid Bond and Power of Attorney or Proposal Guaranty is required in an amount not less than 5% of the total Bid.
