The County of Kauai, Public Works Wastewater is seeking an Engineering firm with extensive knowledge of wastewater operations and engineering to conduct sewer collection system inspections. The work will require the use of video inspection equipment and methods of sufficient quality to provide clarity and definition for an accurate assessment of sewer system conditions. The age of the existing system ranges from 38 to 57 years since installation. The proposed project is an essential step in an integrated approach to expand the sewer collection system which will support the removal of existing cesspools in support of the State legislation requiring all cesspools to be replaced by 2050. Additionally, the work will identify any compromised areas so that the appropriate repairs may be made, ensuring raw effluent is properly conveyed to the wastewater treatment plant, and eliminate any groundwater infiltration that could displace effluent capacity.
