Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area Construction CR Number: 2099800 Contract term: Up to 1 Year Work will include but not be limited to excavation and reuse of existing wetland soils and sediments from wetland and floodplain areas to construct broad scrapes and narrow channels for the delivery of ecologically functional wetlands. The project is meant to increase the available emergent wetland habitat, improve the pothole habitat, and replace existing invasive plant species with native species. The enhancements will help facilitate wildlife usage by muskrats and nesting birds. The Contractor shall provide all equipment, personnel, labor, and facilities as designated herein and as otherwise required for delivery of ecologically functional wetlands as designed and intended. o Installation of erosion, turbidity, and sediment control measures o Excavation of existing wetland soils from wetland and floodplain areas 1 to construct broad scrapes and narrow channels o Excavation (dredging) of wetland sediments from beneath the water surface to deepen existing channels o Temporary stockpiling of wetland soils o Spreading of excavated sediments within wetland areas o Reuse of wetland soils to create habitat mounds within or immediately adjacent to excavations o Removal, of excavated wetland soils to upland spoil areas, including loading, hauling, deposition, spreading, and heavy disking o Removal of contaminated soils to an approved solid waste management disposal location, including loading and hauling. o Create an upland spoil area for contaminated soils, including loading, hauling, depositing, spreading, capping with clean soils.
