The University is seeking to hire a Contractor to perform multi-trade general renovation and alteration construction projects using a Job Order Contracting delivery method. A Job Order Contract (hereinafter called JOC) is a competitively bid, firm-fixed priced, indefinite quantity contract and includes a collection of detailed renovation and modernization tasks and specifications that establish allowable unit prices. The JOC will be awarded to a Contractor for the accomplishment of multi- traded repair, alteration, modernization, maintenance, and rehabilitation work managed by the Facilities Management department within UC San Diego and requires a B-General Building Contractor License. Work applicable to this contract consists of: preventative maintenance work; exterior painting; interior finishes renewal; roof repairs; deck repairs; fencing; environmentally regulated material abatement using UCSD approved abatement subcontractors; and other general construction work as required by the University and valued between $50,000 and $1,000,000. The Contractor will be required to bond for the initial amount of $2,500,000 at the time of contract award and increase the bond amount up to the maximum of $5,000,000 as the Job Order Authorization amount exceeds the initial $ 2,500,000. The JOC will have a Base Term of 1 year with University holding an option to renew for two (2) additional 1-year periods ("Option Terms"). Individual Job Order Authorizations will most likely fall between $50,000 and $1,000,000. In no instance shall a single Authorization exceed $1,000,000. The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed $5,000,000 during the 1-year Base Term, and $5,000,000 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by the University. The minimum value of work to be purchased under this Contract will be $25,000. No maximum Contract amount is guaranteed Bid Security in the amount of $25,000 shall accompany each Bid. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
