Site work for a mixed-use development in McLean, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The National Parks Service is searching for a contractor to repair a broken sewer line in the U.S Park Police District Two Station. On May 9, 2023, a plumbing contractor was called to snake the sewer line for a clog and after clearing the clog, they proceeded to use a CCTV to inspect the sewer line and found a break in the line. The sewer line is approximately 45 years old. The goal of this Contract is to obtain an efficient, cost-effective repair to a broken sewer line. Services to be performed under this SOW shall consist of providing all materials, labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and services necessary to perform the repair. Therefore, any items not specifically noted, but necessary for performance in accordance with accepted practices and industry standards, shall be furnished under the Contract. The term "contractor" is used throughout this document and applies to the offeror selected to perform these services. Contractor shall be licensed in the state of Virginia to provide the services described in this Scope of Work. The sewer line is approximately 45 years old. I. Introduction/Scope A. The goal of this Contract is to obtain an efficient, cost-effective repair to a broken sewer line. B. Services to be performed under this SOW shall consist of providing all materials, labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and services necessary to perform the repair. Therefore, any items not specifically noted, but necessary for performance in accordance with accepted practices and industry standards, shall be furnished under the Contract. C. The term "contractor" is used throughout this document and applies to the offeror selected to perform these services. D. Contractor shall be licensed in the state of Virginia to provide the services described in this Scope of Work. II. Work Requirements The purpose of this document is to procure and implement the following work. A. Contractor is responsible to electronically locate broken sewer pipe, repair, and install new Floor Cleanout (FCO) at site of repair. B. Contractor is responsible for the demolition of the cement slab. C. Contractor is responsible for the excavation of sub grade to locate sewer piping. D. Contractor is responsible to repair broken sewer line- approximately 5 ft of PVC pipe inside the building. E. Contractor is responsible to prep subgrade to proper grade to repair/reinstall concrete floor. F. The affected area(s) also need to be returned to same/like condition prior to demolition, e.g., walls, flooring, tile, lockers, etc. G. Contractor is responsible to have all construction debris removed from NPS property and disposed of properly. H. The work shall comply with the latest approved revision of the following documents. In the event of discrepancy between the Codes and Specifications, the more stringent criteria shall apply. o International Building Code [IBC] o Federal, State and Local Regulations o 29 CFR 1910 - OSHA General Industry Regulations & Standards o 29 CFR 1926 - OSHA Construction Industry Regulations & Standards o US Army Corps of Engineers "Safety and Health Requirements" Manual No. 385-1-1 (free online - https://www.publications.usace.army.mil/USACE-Publications/Engineer-Manuals/ ) o National Park Service Occupational Safety and Health Program - Reference Manual 50B - Reference Manual 50B o Most recent-Superintendents Compendium o International Plumbing Code
