Sanirajak existing distribution system is comprised of two feeders F1 and F2. Feeder 1 covers most of the town area while Feeder 2 feeds the airport and Environment Canada local installations. The main purpose of this system upgrade project is to restructure and upgrade the old existing distribution infrastructure with up-to-date QEC Distribution Standards. The typical tasks involved in this project includes: Construction of new line sections Upgrade of shorter poles to standard 45/50 ft poles Replacement of end-of-life or damaged wood poles Replacement of end-of-life or damaged pole mount distribution transformers Re-conductoring of overhead line cables from #2 AWG to 1/0 AWG AASC Replacement of porcelain insulators with polymer type insulators Taking outages, wherever applicable, commissioning, upgrading and energization of the installations Transfer of existing infrastructure to new poles Removal of decommissioned poles and structures
