The existing one-story (1) structure is located at 310 East Trade Street, Charlotte, NC and was built in 1995. The current CTC is proposed to be redeveloped into a new multimodal facility as part of a joint development project that would include high-density, mixed-use development located in Council District 1. The proposed private development is approximately 1 million square feet of potential office, hotel, and retail. The total estimated private investment for this project is $500,000,000. The proposed project includes both a permanent multimodal facility on the current CTC site, as well as a temporary facility on the adjacent property owned by the developer to maintain bus service during construction of the permanent facility. Total projected project costs for transit improvements is estimated at $48M. The project will also include light rail platform extensions at 3rd Street Station and CTC/Arena Station. Platform extension scope of work to be developed in order to incorporate a 3-car vehicle operation as well as improved connectivity to the CTC Redevelopment Project. The CATS Owner's Representative will provide design and construction oversight for the Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC) Redevelopment Project to be designed and constructed by others. The Owner's Representative will ensure and support compliance with City and CATS policies, design standards and principles, budget and scheduling, as well as conformance to safety and security guidelines for up to 72 months.
