Description: The project defined within this Scope of Work is to replace/upgrade 37 doors and/or door components throughout the hospital. Most of the door and door frames from the original hospital construction are worn and/or damaged. Many of the high traffic doors will be upgraded to stainless steel wrapping to prevent excessive wear. Contractor shall install products following all manufacturer's specifications. E. Background: The existing doors in the Pine Ridge hospital divide rooms and corridors used for all functions that occur within a hospital. Daily operations including moving patients, housekeeping carts and heavy medical equipment with high frequency reduce the life-span of the doors. The doors are essential in providing proper sealing for isolation rooms, keeping proper cooling in the hospital, and maintaining life safety code for smoke and fire partitions. Damaged doors also present an infection control hazard as there are harder to clean. This project will help mitigate these problems by replacing all old and worn doors with new metal sheathed doors.
