The specifications shall govern all work necessary to furnish, install and place into operation the electrical submersible pumps required to complete this project. This section includes electric Submersible pumps to be supplied with motor, close coupled volute, cast iron discharge elbow, guide bar brackets, power cable and accessories. The pumps shall be for wet pit installation. The intent of the Contract Documents is to prescribe the details for the construction and completion of the Work which the Contractor undertakes to perform in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Unless otherwise indicated elsewhere or Plans, these special provisions shall govern all work performed under contract with the City of Ceres. In any case for which a provision is not provided, the appropriate provision or provisions of the State Standard Specifications shall apply. The Specifications and Plans describe portions of the Work in general terms, and not in complete detail. It is understood that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only materials and workmanship of the first quality are to be used. Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals and do all the work involved in performing the Contract in a satisfactory and workmanlike manner. The technical specifications are presented in sections for convenience. However, this presentation does not necessarily delineate trades or limits of responsibility. All sections of the Specifications and Plans are interdependent and applicable to the Project as a whole. The Contract Documents are complementary, and what is called for in any one shall be as binding as if called for in all. Anything shown on the Drawings and not mentioned in the Specifications or mentioned in the Specifications and not shown on the Drawings shall have the same effect as if shown or mentioned respectively in both. Any work shown on one Drawing shall be construed to be shown in all Drawings and the Contractor will coordinate the Work and the Drawings. The proposed work shall be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications and other contract documents and shall consist of the following General work description: The work consists of demolition, removal & disposal of existing concrete slab top and steel access hatch serving existing sewer lift located on Service Road in Ceres and replace with new 10'-0"x10'-0"x15" thick concrete slab top with steel reinforcement and new galvanized steel hatch as called in these specifications and plans. Estimated construction cost for this project is $275,000.00. This project is date specific and the construction schedule shall be strictly adhered. The Contractor shall begin work on or before the date noted in the project construction time schedule shown below and in the General Provisions. Construction WORK HOURS will be limited between 7:00am and 5:00pm Pacific Time, Monday to Friday unless approved by City Engineer. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the California Department of Industrial Relations' Internet web site at website. Copies of the prevailing wage rates are on file with and available upon request from the Engineer. Future effective general prevailing wage rates, which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in the general prevailing wage rates. It shall be mandatory for the Contractor and any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the specified rates to laborers and workmen employed by them in the execution of the Contract. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. Each bond is to be executed in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Time of Completion 45 Working Days
