Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The lift station has been designed for a capacity of 1,600 GPM, with a total dynamic head (TDH) of approximately 310 feet and submersible pumps are the only accepted technology. The motors shall be 75 hp and larger and suitable sections that is within the approval list of pump vendors are KSB, Flygt and Sulzer. The submersible pumps will operate based on wet well levels that will be monitored using a Siemens Multiranger/Hydroranger 100/200 sensor, with floats as a backup. The power and controls for pumps will be housed in a building. SCADA equipment will communicate with a 900 MHz Eagle Mountain Tower. All PLC and SCADA equipment will be fed from a UPS backup power source. Standby power will be provided via a diesel-fueled generator, stand-by rated, sized to run one (1) pump with enough reserve fuel for a minimum of 24 hours as required by 30 TAC 217.63. The proposed pump arrangement will consist of a 1 duty pump plus 2 stand-by pumps, with lead/lag alternation. The second stand-by pump was included as a requirement from the City of Fort Worth operations personnel for redundancy purposes. Motors on the three pumps are estimated to be 235 HP each. proposed wet well is a rectangular cast in place concrete structure with an epoxy lining. For consistent operation during emergency and non-emergency operations, only one pump should run at all times given the force main carrying capacity, therefore the installed controls should completely stop the operating pump before allowing the next pump to start. The controls should be programmed to lock out starting the next pump when one is running on generator/power, to avoid overloads if another pump should try to start. The generator will be enclosed within a soundproof enclosure and be equipped with a network connection to communicate with the station PLC. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) will be installed for controlled ramp starting and stopping of pump motors. VFDs will be installed in NEMA 12 enclosures inside of a conditioned electrical building, which will be specified at a later stage depending on material lead times. In compliance with 30 TAC 217.59 (d), Odor control will be required A preliminary bid list of Bid Items include; Lift station structure, pipe gallery, pumps, VFDs along with an Electrical building and 12" Force Main approximately 2,590 feet.
