Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Brantford, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a educational facility.
Construction of alterations to improve the existing below ground pedestrian tunnel, the 60-foot tunnel connects the main administration building of the W Ross MacDonald School for the Deafblind to the residence buildings. The scope includes repair of exisiting structure, insultations and concrete to repair leaks and remove asbestos. The project will also include addition of sprinklers and lighting. Landscaping above the existing structure to remove two pergolas and improve the stability above the tunnel is included. TIMELINE: A study was completed in 2019 by the consultant which recommended rehabilitation of the existing tunnel. The design was completed in 2022. The contractor was awarded through an invited tender process. Construction began March 2023. Whatever works are not complete will pause for the start of school in September, and recommence in spring, 2024. Sub trade pricing is being secured through an invited tender process.
