Renovation of a fire / police facility in Brockton, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a 226,265-square-foot fire / police facility.
Respondents must be DCAMM certified and meet all requirements noted in the RFQ. All questions regarding the RFQ must be submitted in writing to Kevin Sullivan, ksullivan@chacompanies.com by 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.. Filed Subcontractor categories are: Masonry, Misc. Metals, Waterproofing, Damp-proofing and Caulking, Roofing and Flashing, Metal Windows, Glass and Glazing, Tile, Acoustical Tile, Resilient Floors, Painting, Elevators, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. The City of Brockton reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, to waive any informality in prequalification, and to accept or reject submissions as determined in the best interests of the City. The proposed Facility will be constructed on a 3.75-acre site on which the existing Keith Center (composed of the Frederic Douglas Academy and the Champion High School) is currently situated. The Keith Center will be demolished and removed, and a new 117,583 gross square foot ("SF") facility will be constructed in its place, along with an adjacent parking structure for a total square footage for the Project of 226,265 SF. The proposed two- and three-story Facility will include a new headquarters for the Fire, Police, Information Technology, and Emergency Response Departments. The Facility will consist of two wings a north wing that will house the Fire Department, and a south wing that will house the Police and Emergency Response Departments. The northernmost portion of the building, which will house the Fire Department living quarters, is two-stories tall and abuts the Apparatus Bay to the south. Program elements in this wing include Operations and Living facilities for the Fire Department. The Main (First) Floor includes space for Fire Department Operations and the Second Floor includes Bunk Rooms, Toilet/Shower Rooms, and a Wellness Center. The central, three-story portion of the north wing of the facility consists primarily of Fire Department Operations Spaces (Offices, Records Storage, Meetings Rooms, and open work areas). The Police and Emergency Response Departments will be located in the two- and three-story south wing of the Facility. This portion of the building has a full basement that exits into the stand-alone Parking Garage (separate project, designed by others) to the west. Program elements in this south wing include the following: Lower Level: General Storage, Locker Rooms, Training Rooms, a Wellness Center, and Mechanical Rooms Main (First) floor: Detention Cells, Dispatch, Meeting Rooms, Offices, and a Sallyport. Second Floor: Evidence Storage, Offices, and Training Rooms. Third Floor: Offices, Conferences and Communications Rooms, and the Emergency Call Center. The project Minority Business Enterprise ("MBE") goal is 4.2% and Women Business Enterprise ("WBE") goal is 8.8%. The project Workforce Minority Business Enterprise ("MBE") goal is 15.3% and Women Business Enterprise ("WBE") goal is 6.9%.
