Demolition and site work for a residential development in Galesburg, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 9,882-square-foot residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Questions prior to bid opening shall be submitted electronically to Cody Basham via cbasham@klingner.com. Include in the Subject Line: 140-144 E Main Street Demolition - Question Submittal. Reference Specification Section or Plan Sheet in email. No question shall be taken over the phone. A certified check or bank draft, payable to City of Galesburg, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations is required. Vendors will be required to comply with all applicable EEO laws and regulations. The submission of the bid by the offeror in response to this Advertisement for Bids constitutes an acknowledgement of and an agreement by the Offeror that it understands and will comply and the Illinois Preference Act (30 ILCS 570). Resolution No. 90-74 requires compliance with the Human Relations Act and all pertinent federal and state rules and regulations. City of Galesburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to accept other than the lowest bid, and to waive any irregularities or informalities in bids received. Bids may be held by City of Galesburg for a period not to exceed thirty (60) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. . Work includes demolition work of two buildings located at 140 and 144 E. Main Street, Galesburg, Illinois. See Summary of Work for more information. All questions should be submitted, in writing via email, to the Owners Architect/Engineer Consultant Question Deadline 08/04/2023 Work consists of demolition of two (2) existing two (2) story masonry buildings totaling approximately 9,882 square feet. Demolition, removal and proper disposal of the 140 E. Main Street and 144 E. Main Street buildings, building foundations, slabs, stoops, interior above and below grade, plumbing, electrical and HVAC appurtenances, coordination with Contractors and removal of existing site elements. In addition, the stabilization of the existing party wall on the 138 E. Main Street Building. New exterior EIFS finish shall be applied on the exposed party walls to the 156 E. Main building and 138 E. Main Street Building. The exposed exterior masonry wall of the 156 E. Main Street building requires no stabilization. The 140 E. Main Street and 144 E. Main Street buildings contain asbestos, but the buildings are unsafe for remediation prior to demolition. An asbestos inspection report is available. Contractor shall be responsible for complying with all applicable asbestos associated regulations. Installation of new storm sewer as indicated on Site Plan is also included in the Work.
