The City of West Sacramento is accepting sealed responses for Police Department Generator Replacement West Sacramento is a vibrant riverfront community centrally located in Northern California. West Sacramento shares the Sacramento River with neighboring Sacramento, with the deep water ship canal serving the Port of Sacramento. Incorporated in 1987, West Sacramento encompasses approximately 22 square miles, with a population just over 53,000 people. The City is full-service with nine (9) departments and over 400 full-time employees. The City provides the full range of municipal services including police and fire protection, park, street, fleet, and facility maintenance, economic development and housing, community development, capital projects, and parks and recreation. The City also provides water, wastewater, and solid waste services. Replacement of existing generator to include- Removal and disposal of existing generator Supply new generator or similar per the specifications supplied Installation of new generator to include all incidentals to complete installation Crane pick and traffic control to complete generator switch out Supply and install new transfer switch to include all incidentals to complete installation All required system and configuration Initial system start up and testing Supply and install new main transfer switch to include all incidentals to complete installation Obtain all needed permits to include supplying all needed documentation Submit submittals on new generator and transfer switch for approval before purchasing Question Submission Deadline:August 4, 2023, 2:00pm Question Response Deadline:August 9, 2023, 2:00pm Contractor Selection Date:August 23, 2023 General Notes 1. Project specifications are an integral part of this project. Upon submittal of a bid price by the Contractor, it is recognized that the Contractor has received a copy of the specifications and the Contractor agrees to abide by the requirements and conditions contained therein. 2. The Contractor shall examine the site, compare it with the specifications, carefully examine all of the Contract Documents, and satisfy themselves as to the conditions under which the work is to be performed before entering into contract. No allowance shall subsequently be made on behalf of the Contractor on account of an error on the Contractor's part and/or their negligence and/or failure to acquaint themselves with the conditions of the site. 3. The Contractor shall determine the exact location of any existing utilities before commencing work and agrees to be fully responsible for any and all damage due to Contractors failure to exactly locate and preserve any and all underground utilities. Call U.S.A. at 811 and all applicable utility companies prior to commencing work on this project. 4. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to the existing streets or sidewalks during the construction of this project and shall repair such damage to the satisfaction of the governing agency, at no extra cost to the Owner. 5. All existing conditions and structures, not specifically noted for removal shall be retained and protected. Existing conditions and structures that are damaged during the course of construction shall be replaced by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Owner. 6. The Contractor shall make arrangements with utility companies and is responsible for all costs associated for temporary utilities necessary during construction. Contractor is responsible to pay all utility costs during construction and including the maintenance period. Costs for temporary utilities are a part of the base bid. 7. The Contractor shall perform all clearing and site preparation necessary for the proper execution of all work indicated on these specifications. 8. All work is to be performed by licensed contractors and experienced workers. 9. Contractor shall obtain and pay for all permits necessary to complete the work, unless otherwise noted. 10. Conform to all local codes. 11. The Contractor is responsible for providing, erecting and maintaining the required materials, equipment and manpower necessary for public safety and traffic control within the project limits and on the approaches to the project. 12. All construction shall be in accordance with the latest edition of City of West Sacramento Standard Specifications. 13. If any archeological, cultural or historical resources, or artifacts or other features are discovered during the course of construction anywhere on the project site, work shall be suspended in that location until a qualified professional archeologist assesses the significance of the discovery. The Owner shall be notified immediately of any finds. In consultation with the archeologist and the governing agency, appropriate measures for preservation shall be established prior to the commencement of work. 14. The Contractor shall possess a General B contractors license
