Project awarded to Felix Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $602,682.26 Question Deadline 04/18/2024 at 4:00 PM MT The City of Tempe is proposing to develop a new Municipal Supply Well on an undevelope10,000 square-foot parcel located south of and adjacent to Tempe Town Lake, adjacent to and north of the former ASU Karsten Golf Course, and west of McClintock Drive The site is located on City-owned property and is outside of Salt River Project (SRP) member lands (non-member lands), which is a critical item for groundwater supply to the non-member land corridor around Tempe Town Lake, Rio Salado Parkway, and the downtown Tempe area. The objective of the project is to deliver a minimum of 1,000 GPM of groundwater to the City of Tempe distribution system, meeting water quality standards on non-member lands. Challenges with this site and project include the following: Site orientation and size Proximity to APS Ocotillo Well #4 and its potential impact on production capacity Possible presence of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), requiring treatment design Location near the Salt River Flood Levee and permitting requirements with MCFCD and other entities Design and construction to meet the aesthetic requirements of the area.
