Reference Number AB-2023-04838 Delivery location is 250 Karl Clark Road NW, Edr This unit is required to carry out both vacuum distillation as well as thermal treatment of hydrocarbon. A vacuum distillation unit (22 litres boiler flask capacity) that can run a distillation process on Athabasca bitumen at a reduced pressure of up to 1 mm Hg (i.e., 1 Torr) with boiler flask reaching at least 400 oC. The unit should allow continuous heating of boiler flask (under vacuum conditions) so that vacuum bottom residue could be thermally treated for a pre-determined time duration (minutes to hours). Ideally for thermal treatments, we wish to be able to set vacuum, pot temperature and hold time at that temperature before shut-down and cooling.
