The State University of New York at Buffalo is submitting an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the supply of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for asbestos abatement projects on an “as needed” basis in buildings located at the North Campus, South Campus, Downtown Campus, and any University-owned properties. This Contract may be utilized by University Facilities, Campus Living, and UBF Faculty Student Housing Corporation for asbestos abatement needs. All abatement shall be in accordance with New York State Industrial Code Rule 56 and the AHERA requirements of the EPA. NYS prevailing wage applies. CR Number: 2100119 Types of work include: Removal of asbestos containing pipe insulation from piping, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment. Removal of asbestos containing mudded fittings at joints, valves, and piping. Removal of asbestos containing thermal systems insulation from piping, boilers, and breeching. Removal of asbestos containing gaskets, refractory and refractory cement from boilers. Removal of asbestos containing floor surfacing (tile and/or tile and carpet) including adhesives. Removal and disposal of asbestos containing doors (wood and metal). Removal and disposal of in-house generated asbestos waste bagged and labeled as per New York State Industrial Code Rule 56.
