In general, the WORK of this Contract will consist of relocating the existing 70kW emergency natural gas generator to a new location, installed in a new below grade CIP concrete vault, and an above grade electrical/control building, installation of a new below ground submersible style sewer lift station and valve vault, demolition of the existing lift station and site features, and rehabilitation/reconstruction of the Anita Street beach access stairs, including ALL general civil site improvements within the City of Laguna Beach. In accordance with the provisions of Sections 1773.2 of the California Labour Code, copies of the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the State Director of Industrial Relations are available on the Internet at the World Wide Web site of the State Department of Industrial Relations at under Statistics and Research. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. All parties to the contract shall be governed by all provisions of the California Labour Code relating to prevailing wage rates; Sections 1770-1781 inclusive. If required in the Notice Inviting Bids, bids shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or an acceptable corporate bid bond on the form furnished by the City for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the order of the City of Laguna Beach. The Contractor will be required to post a payment bond guaranteeing the payment to subcontractors and other persons furnishing labour, materials and/or equipment with respect to the project in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated Contract price. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City.
