Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Logan, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

It is the intent of the Construction Manager, DWA Construction, Inc., to award this contract within 7 days from the RFP due date, contingent upon the project bid amount staying within the estimated budget. The intent of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified, responsible Asphalt Contractors to Provide crack seal, seal coat, and striping the fore-mentioned parking lots, as it applies. The Contractor has the option to provide pricing for as many of the schools as desired. The Logan City School District and DWA Construction, Inc. reserve the right to select whichever contractor's proposal is deemed to be in the best interest of the LCSD or reject any or all proposals. It is the intent of DWA Construction, Inc. to award the projects in whatever way is most beneficial to Logan City School District. The scope of this contract is as indicated on the included project information and any instructions and/or directions given in this RFP. Questions generated, and instructions or directions during the bidding process will be answered by written addendum. All questions shall be directed, in writing, to Nathan Hansen, (dwanate.h@dwaconstruct.com), representative for DWA Construction, Inc. Last day for addendum items shall be July 28, 2023, by 2:00 PM, MDT, to be issued in the final addendum by July 31, 2023, by 2:00 PM MDT. Each contractor will be responsible to visit the site and obtain accurate dimensions and measurements for proposing on this project. It is the sole responsibility, of the Asphalt contractor to field verify the existing conditions, and factor these conditions into the cost of work. Any questions or conflicts shall be brought to the attention of the CM/GC for clarification or resolution. The Asphalt Contractor will be responsible for any prep work necessary for applying the seal coat and any needed striping. It is the responsibility of the Asphalt Contractor to verify access and staging issues at the project site. It is the responsibility of the Asphalt Contractor to provide all necessary barricading and protection for the site. Any damages to landscaped or paved surfaces as the result of this contract are the responsibility of the Asphalt Contractor and are to be repaired at no expense to the Logan City School District or the CM/GC. There will be no change order allowed for conditions that could have been identified during a site visit. Seal Coat Requirements: Tuff-coat Sealcoat and Nu Coat have been approved as acceptable seal coats. We will accept seal coats that are equal to their specifications. Apply per manufacturers specification. Random collection of sampled diluted seal may be taken to insure proper dilution ratio. All parking lots are to receive 2 coats of emulsified asphalt seal coat. Crack Seal Requirements: Please see the attached specifications for crack sealing. Alternates and substitutions may be accepted. Please provide specification data for alternates or substitutions. Pavement Marking: Proceed with pavement marking only on clean, dry surfaces and at a minimum ambient or surface temperature of 40 deg F (4 deg C) for oil-based materials, 50 deg F (10 deg C) for water-based materials and not exceeding 95 deg F (35 def C). Alkyd-resin type, ready mix complying with FS TT-P-115, Type I, or AASHTO M-248, Type N or latex, water-base emulsion, ready mixed, complying with FS TT-P-1952., colors: white, yellow, red, blue and other colors required to replicate existing markings. Note: It is the contractors responsibility to document existing markings to ensure all markings match the original layout. Proposal must include all items necessary to provide a complete bid. Project Information: All new pavement markings are to be restriped to match the original markings. Again, let us emphasize, each contractor will be responsible to visit the site and obtain accurate dimensions and measurements for proposing on this project. All questions and inquiries are to be direct to the Construction Manager at the contact information list in this RFP. There is to be no contact with the owner.
