Will rebid in January 2024 The scope of work for this project includes removing and replacing hardware in both gendered restrooms; modifying the existing shower rooms in each gendered restrooms to convert them into two family restrooms with an emphasis on universal access; and adding sliding doors to the main entry area to increase security and for ease of use/circulation into and out of the restrooms. For a fully detailed scope of work, please see the Project Manual and Project Plans included as Exhibit B of this RFP. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating work with all sub-contractors. The list and order of activities outlined below may be amended and finalized by the contractor with BPRW approval. Please carefully read the following information that details the City's expectations in relation to the project scope of work. The selected contractor will provide the City with professional services to realize the successful implementation of all aspects of this scope. The work must take place during our seasonal shutdown, which is October 2, 2023, to May 1,2024, with all tasks completed no later than April 15, 2024. All bids must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. The bid guarantee may be a certified check, bank draft, U.S. Government Bonds at par value, or a bid bond secured by a surety company acceptable to the U.S. Government and authorized to do business in the State of Vermont. Certified checks and bank drafts must be made payable to the order of the municipality. The bid guarantee shall insure the execution of the contract and the furnishing of a method of assurance of completion by the successful bidder as required by the solicitation. Responses will be posted August 14, 2023 by 12 p.m. The selected consultant will be required to execute a contract with the City on the terms and conditions required by the City, including but not limited to those in the Burlington Standard Contract Conditions (Exhibit E) and the attached Draft Agreement. No proposal will be considered accepted until all necessary City authorizations including those required by Board of Finance and City Council if necessary-have been received and an agreement is executed by both parties. All bids must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. See Section VII for detailed bid bond conditions. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to negotiate with one or more parties, or to award the contract to the proposal the City deems will meet its best interests, even if that proposal is not the lowest bid.
