Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Hampton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Project #1 Southside Elementary & Northside Elementary Miscellaneous Improvements (appx. value $1.5M-$2M) SSE: Front secure entrance renovation including moving some classroom space, office space, and entrance progressions. There is an on-going mechanical replacement project for SSE for the majority of the school, however, this entrance area was not included in that project scope due to MEP renovations required. SSE: Update MEP in the secure entrance renovated area. SSE: Enclose a vestibule ramp leading out to the playground area. SSE: Explore various water drainage issues around the perimeter and mitigate as possible. SSE: Construct a new parking lot to the west. NSE: Add a vestibule to make a secure entrance on the south side of the building. Minor renovations within the office will be included. NSE: Review for exterior maintenance items including restoration and tuckpointing. Design of this work is to be complete and issued for bidding mid-November, 2023. Construction to be completed over the summer of 2024. Location(s): SSE: 507 4th Ave SE, Hampton, IA 50441 NSE: 114 11th Place NE, Hampton, IA 50441 Project #2 H-D High School Phase 1 Additions and Renovations (appx. value $9M-$10M) The work included in Phase 1 is included in the attached diagram. This work shall include the balance of the SAVE funding source, however, the design work for Phase 2 is also included through the Design Development stage. The exterior scope includes safety repairs to the baseball field, softball field and football field as necessary. This work could be eliminated if the bond passes as portions of Phase 2 work would replace the need for this work. Construction of a new competition gymnasium to the north side of the school, seating a minimum of 1500 spectators and shall include a lobby space and food tech classroom space. Renovation of the interior spaces including locker room spaces, restrooms throughout, science rooms, student lounge/common spaces, art room, and special education areas. Parking and infrastructure improvements including revised parking and drives, water retention, and utility work/relocation. There is an existing geothermal loop located to the NW of the HS in the practice football field area. This exact location needs to be verified. If the bond is not successful, design of this work is to be complete and issued for bidding March-April, 2024. Location(s): HDHS: 101 12th Ave NW, Hampton, IA 50441 Project #3 H-D High School Phase 2 Additions and Renovations & Bond (scope below assumes successful bond) The work included in Phase 2 is included in the attached diagram. Construction of a new Auditorium space, Band Room and supporting spaces north of the planned Competition Gym. Construction of new Locker Room spaces to the west of the planned Competition Gym. Relocate/renovate the existing Industrial Technology classroom into the Weight Room space. Relocate/renovate the existing Weight Room space into the Industrial Technology classroom. Additional Locker Room renovations. Relocate/renovate Wrestling Room to existing Band space. Complete new field surfacing and grading on the football field. Field to be either synthetic turf or sod. Complete new field surfacing and grading at the baseball field. Field to be sod and synthetic infield turf. Update exterior facilities at the baseball and softball fields as required. Construction of additional parking to the NW of the High School. Modify existing geothermal fields and address water detention.
