This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Elk Grove, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The City of Elk Grove, Public Works Department, will be requesting a detailed proposal from firms qualified to update and consolidate the Storm Drainage Master Plan (SDMP) and the East Area SDMP, both developed in 2005, into one SDMP. The study area is the incorporated city limits of the City of Elk Grove and the planning area as depicted in the City's General Plan. Upon completion in 2005, the City's SDMP and East Area SDMP evaluated the capacity of existing drainage facilities and features in consideration of buildout of future development per the land uses and densities depicted in the City's General Plan at the time. To the extent appropriate, the master plans recommended improvements to existing storm drainage facilities that were needed to achieve desired capacity levels and provide flood control. Since 2005, many drainage projects that were included in the master plans were completed and the proposed project list needs to be updated. The primary goal of the City SDMP update is to create a new consolidated SDMP for the City of Elk Grove as a whole, update the existing 200-year floodplain map using QL1 LiDAR data that the City expects to receive in January 2024, develop a 2D Hydraulic Model using the QL1 LiDAR data, identify and update facility needs and related costs, and to serve as a comprehensive tool for development of drainage-related capital improvement projects in the City of Elk Grove. It is envisioned that this update shall provide uniform design criteria and a list of completed, outstanding, and new drainage capital improvement projects. The City's drainage system consists of approximately 400 miles of underground pipes and 60 miles of natural and constructed channels. The City of Elk Grove has multiple creeks that run across the city including Laguna Creek, Elk Grove Creek, Elder Creek, Deer Creek, Strawberry Creek, Franklin Creek, Erhardt Creek, and the Shed C Channel along with many tributaries. Elk Grove Creek is the most significant drainage feature passing through the City of Elk Grove If you have any questions regarding the upcoming RFP, please contact the City's Senior Civil Engineer, Travis Kuhn at tkuhn@elkgrovecity.org or 916/627-3262. Once the RFP is released, all inquiries will need to be submitted in writing and follow the request for information process and timeline as outlined in the RFP. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
