The Department of Transportation (DOT), Airports seeks the services of qualified engineering firms to provide planning services for Runways Friction Testing, Statewide Airports. The project scope includes performing friction testing at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Kahului Airport, Kapalua Airport, Lihue Airport, Lanai Airport, Molokai Airport, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole, Hilo International Airport, and Kalaeloa (John Rodgers Field) Airport using a Dynamic Friction Tester (DFT) as required by the FAA AC 150-5320-12D. The project will also perform continuous maintenance and repair of the state owned DFT's (4 total friction testers) as required by the manufacturer. The estimated construction cost is $3,000,000.
