The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting Bids for removal and replacement of Corrections Facility shower surfaces and lighting fixtures. Work may commence after October 1, 2023. This project is for the removal and replacement of all shower lighting and the application of a monolithic surface coating in all NON stainless-steel showers. This project will include the removal of existing shower light fixtures and installation of a new Shat-r-shield H20 Pro, or approved alternate, shower lighting fixture and mounting plate. In addition, this project will include the application of 100% solids, non-permeable, slip resistant, coating to all surfaces of inmate showers that are not fabricated of stainless steel. This includes all ceilings, walls, floors, and metal accessories located within, or in the immediate vicinity of the dayroom showers. This project shall include at minimum the following: Removal of all existing fixtures, accessories, and other apparatus from the shower area. Proper preparation of all substrates, including, but not limited to, masonry, tile, cement coating, metal, and painted surfaces. Priming / sealing of all properly prepped surfaces. Proper, workman like application of all surface and top coatings to ensure a complete seal and application per product specifications. Reinstallation of necessary fixtures, accessories, and apparatus into the shower area. Removal and disposal of existing shower area lighting fixture. Installation of mounting plate to utilize existing mounting holes from existing fixture. Installation and wiring of new fixture into shower area. Verification of proper seals and operation of all fixtures and apparatus installed in shower area. Kent County will award and contract for the goods and services in this Solicitation in an efficient and timely manner. In no event will notification of award be more than 45 days from the date of submission. Desired completion date by January 31, 2024. No Bid Bond is required if Respondents offer is less than $500,000. If the offer is withdrawn after Solicitation opening, Respondent may be removed from the Bidders List (Vendor Registration) pursuant to Kent County Purchasing Central Purchasing and Open Market Procedures for Goods and Services section D.13 Failure to Perform Satisfactory. Each offer over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for 5% of the total amount of the offer. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file a certified dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashiers check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract. Some work will be performed in secure areas. Some work may be performed during alternate hours. Once the project is started, work will be continuous until the point of completion. All onsite personnel will need to pass a background check. Kent County, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to reject any or all submissions, or award to the Respondent deemed most advantageous, while reserving the right to weigh other factors in the decision. Kent County reserves the right to waive irregularities of the Solicitation process or award by line item when applicable. Where price is a consideration, delivery, project schedule, warranty, maintenance, and life cycle costs will be utilized in evaluating this award The conference provides equal opportunity to seek clarifications and inspect the location (if applicable).
