o Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided and must be manually signed by the individual authorized to legally bind the company. o Bids received after the opening date and time will be rejected. o MAILED/HAND-DELIVERED/FAXED/EMAILED BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. You are invited to submit your bid to furnish the materials and/or services described herein. Please submit your prices/fees net of all discounts. It is the intent of the City that this Request for Bid promotes competitive bidding. It shall be the Vendor's responsibility to advise the Purchasing Department if any language, requirements, etc. any combination thereof, inadvertently restricts or limits the requirements stated in this Request for Bid to a single source. Such notification must be submitted in writing and must be received by the Purchasing Department not later than three (3) days prior to the bid opening date. Clarification and Addenda Each bidder shall examine all Request for Bid documents and shall judge all matters relating to the adequacy and accuracy of such documents. Any inquiries or suggestions, concerning interpretation, clarification, or additional information pertaining to the Request for Bid shall be made through the Purchasing Department in writing or through email. The Purchasing Department shall not be responsible for oral interpretations given by any City employee, representative, or others. The issuance of written addenda is the official method whereby interpretation, clarification, or additional information can be given. It shall be the responsibility of each bidder, prior to submitting their Bid, to contact the Purchasing Department at phone number 417-337-8556, to determine if addenda were issued and to make such addenda a part of their Bid. 06. RFB Expenses All expenses for making Bids to the City are to be borne by the bidder. SCOPE OF WORK Purpose: The City of Branson is seeking a contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, tools and materials to install, as specified below, approximately 1024 linear feet of chain link fencing with black slats. That will provide screening from the neighborhood on the west and south sides of the property. 240 linear feet of 4' chain link fencing between the boat parking and the campground. 1. General Requirements: o Quality of Materials. All steel, including fabric, pipe and fittings shall be first quality, full weight, "hot dip" galvanized material. All weights and dimensions are nominal. o Fabric. No. 9 gauge wire, woven into a 2" chain link mesh galvanized after fabrication. Top and bottom selvage of the fabric will be knuckled. Zinc coating by weight will not be less than 1.2 ounces per square foot. Wire used in fabric shall be open-hearth steel, containing not less than 0.20% copper with tensile strength of not less than 85,000 lbs. per square inch. o Line Posts. Shall be 2 1/2" Sch. 40 galvanized pipe set in concrete. Minimum depth is two (2) feet below grade. o Line Post Tops. Shall be heavy galvanized, cast-iron eye top fittings to be set over post snugly. o Top Rail. Shall be 1-5/8" .080 galvanized steel pipe, in lengths of not less than 20 feet. Exception: pieces cut to fit end of run. o Terminal Post Tops. End and corner posts to be fitted with heavy galvanized iron tops of bullet-type construction. o Terminal and Gate Posts. Shall be 3" O.D. Sch. 40 galvanized steel pipe. o Tension Bands. Shall be beveled edge type with either nuts and bolts or special lock pin type. o Black Slats. Shall be installed at the total height of 7' to provide screening from the neighborhood. o Construction: Contractor shall set all fencing to alignment. The contractor shall guarantee that the fencing is located correctly with respect to layout information provided and shall relocate at his expense any fence which is installed incorrectly. o Installation and Other Fencing Materials: o Workmanship. Completed fence shall be plumb, both in line and transverse to the fence, straight and rigid, with fabric tightly stretched and held firmly in place. Gates shall swing easily and hang true and close into the plane of the fence. Details of construction not specified shall be performed in keeping with good standard fencing practice. o Concrete. Set all posts in concrete designed to have a minimum compressive strength of 2,500 psi at 28 days. Allow all posts to set at least seven (7) days before top rails, bottom rails, wire fabric and fittings are installed. o Line Posts. Space line posts not more than 10' apart and set in concrete 24" deep and not less than 6" in diameter. Slope footings from post out to edge approximately 1" to match finish grade at edges. Provide smooth troweled finish on all footings. o Top Rail. Set top rails as nearly parallel to the finish grade as possible and at the specified height of fence. In the case of sloping grades, the top rail shall be sloped uniformly parallel to the finish grade as nearly as possible and in a manner to prevent any abrupt changes in grade of the top rail. Top rail shall be installed in a continuous run between terminal posts using eye top caps. o Fabric Ties. Shall be No. 11 gauge galvanized steel tie wire for fabric to framework ties Provide a minimum of 6 ties for each 10' of rail and one tie to each one foot of post height. o Terminals. Set into concrete footings 30" deep and a minimum of 10" in diameter. Slope footings from post out to edge approximately 1" to match finish grade and edges. o Tension Bands. Provide one fastener for each one foot of fabric height. o Experience. Qualified and experienced installers working under the supervision of the Contractor shall perform the actual work. o Utilities. Upon request from the Contractor, the City will locate any buried cable, conduit or other electrical facility, which may interfere with the Contractor's operations, without charge to the contractor. o Should any damage occur to any underground service through the Contractor's operations, the Contractor shall report the known or suspected damage to the City. All repairs or replacement of damaged equipment shall conform to the requirements of the original installation. The City shall invoice the Contractor directly for the cost of the repair. No extra compensation shall be allowed the Contractor for compliance with these requirements or for any expense incurred to effect repairs to damaged underground services. o Adjacent Property. Adequate care shall be taken to protect all adjacent works from damage as a result of installation. Any and all damage caused as a result of the installation shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the City. o Cleanup. All debris resulting from this work shall be removed from the site. Term of Contract: The term of the contract shall be for one year from the effective date of the City's witten Notice to Proceed with work to the Contractor. The City may, at its sole option, give notice to the Contractor to extend the contract for up to three (3) additional successive one-year terms unless the Contractor has notified the City at least ninety (90) days prior to the end of the then contract term or extensions thereto that the Contractor will not renew the contract. The contract shall not bind, nor purport to bind, the City for any contract term beyond the original term of the contract.
